  • Barry Baker has been named managing director and venture partner with Boston Ventures Management. He had previously served as COO of USA Networks.

  • Rob Coneybeer and Scott Sandell have both been promoted to the position of general partner at New Enterprise Associates.

  • Michael DiPiano has joined NewSpring Ventures as a partner. He was most recently chairman of Maxwell Systems.

  • Adam Grossner has been named a general partner with Foundation Capital. Prior to joining the Menlo Park, Calif.-based venture firm, Grossner was president of Excite@Home's subscriber networks operation.

  • Mitchell Hollin has been named a partner with LLR Equity Partners. Prior to joining the Philadelphia-based investment firm, Hollin was founder and managing director of Advanta Partners.

  • Laura Jennings has been named a senior principal with Atlas Ventures. She joins the Boston-based investment outfit after spending 12 years at Microsoft Corp. Most recently, she served as Microsoft's vice president of worldwide strategic planning.

  • Kevin Linker has been promoted to the position of general partner with Pivotal Asset Management. Prior to joining the San Francisco-based firm, Linker was an analyst with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

  • Jonathan Schwartz has been promoted to the position of senior vice president of corporate strategy and planning with Sun Microsystems Inc. He had previously been in charge of Sun's venture and strategic investment group.
