Paul Holland, former senior vice president of
worldwide sales at Palo Alto, Calif.-based eCRM provider KANA Communications
Inc., joined early-stage investor Foundation Capital as a venture partner.
With a new $595 million investment fund to work with, Holland will not only
source and manage deals for Foundation Capital, but also have the
opportunity to co-invest in any new deals alongside the firm's seven general
partners.
Holland is to join the firm's enterprise software team, an effort
that has been led by general partners Kathryn Gould, Paul Koontz and Mike
Schuh. The firm's enterprise applications portfolio includes stakes in eCRM
providers Chordiant Software and Onyx Software as well as PacificEdge
Software, a maker of project portfolio management software. Prior to
joining Kana, Holland was vice president and general manager at software
configuration management firm Pure-Atria Corp., which was acquired by
Cupertino, Calif.-based software developer of Rational Software Inc. in
1996.
