Prasenjit Phukan, Entrepreneur-in-Residence

Prasenjit comes to Foundation after 7 years at Google, where he held key product roles across mobile, commerce, and international. As part of the early Android team, he led the product development of core platform apps (e.g. Contacts, Gmail, Browser, & Search) through six releases in two years. He was subsequently the product lead for Google Wallet, and worked with industry partners to launch Google's initial mobile commerce efforts. Prior to Android and Commerce, he was instrumental in setting up Google's Bangalore engineering office, launching several India specific consumer products, and hiring the in-country product team.

Pre-Google, Prasenjit wore a suit, and spent 2 years at Siebel (acquired by Oracle) where he was responsible for product development on all IBM platform technologies.

Prasenjit received his MBA from the MIT Sloan School, and his BS in Electrical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) where he was also a Singapore Airlines scholar.

In his spare time, he is a lucky dad and storyteller to he and his wife’s 5 year old daughter. And thanks to his MIT days, he is an avid sports fan for all things Boston, and literally willed the Red Sox to end the curse of the Bambino.
